  • Laptop & charger — required for the hands-on AI weather labs
  • Passport and any printed visa/entry documents
  • UK-style Type G plug adapter (UAE is 230V, 50Hz)
  • Any country data you've been asked to bring for the benchmarking sessions
  • Reusable water bottle

👔 Clothing

  • Smart-casual / business-casual attire for sessions
  • A light layer or jacket — venues are strongly air-conditioned
  • Comfortable shoes for the NCM facility tours
  • Modest attire is appreciated at official and cultural venues
  • Sunglasses, sunscreen, and a hat for outdoor moments (e.g. group photo)
  • Light, breathable clothing for warm afternoons

Getting to Abu Dhabi

Which airport should I fly into?
Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) is closest, about 30–40 minutes from the venues. Dubai International (DXB) is roughly 90 minutes away by road and is a common alternative.
How do I get around?
Organized buses connect the hotel with MBZUAI and NCM on session days. For personal travel, metered taxis and ride-hailing apps (Careem, Uber, and the Abu Dhabi taxi app) are widely available and affordable.
Good to know
Currency is the UAE dirham (AED); cards are accepted almost everywhere. The working week is Monday–Friday. Arabic is the official language and English is very widely spoken. The UAE is tolerant and welcoming; modest dress is appreciated at official and religious sites. Tap water is desalinated and safe, though many prefer bottled.
